The key activity of this unit is to implement the 5 epidemiological indicators (general population surveys, treatment demand indicator, problem drug use, drug-related infectious diseases, drug-related deaths and mortality) so as to depict the state of the drugs problem in Greece in quantitative, methodologically reliable and factual terms. The key activity of this unit is to monitor, document and analyse data about demand reduction interventions (substance abuse prevention, drug-related harm reduction, treatment of dependent drug users, reintegration of former and/or recovering drug users). Read more...

EKTEPN gathers information about the policy and the philosophy governing the response to drugs and collects legislation on drugs and substance classification. Read more...

The Early Warning System (EWS) involves the exchange of information about new substances and new use patterns of use. Information coming from the nationwide network is assessed by the EWS experts committee as to first occurrence in Greece and is then forwarded to all relevant agencies in Greece and to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction.
