Μείωση της ζήτησης – Βασικοί άξονες δουλειάς

The core activities of the Greek REITOX Focal Point in the field of demand reduction include:

collection of comparable data on demand reduction interventions implemented in Greece

One of the core activities of the Greek REITOX Focal Point is to collect detailed and comparable data on interventions for the prevention of drug use, reduction of drug-related harm, treatment of drug users and social reintegration of former and/or recovering drug users, in order to draw a comparable and comprehensive picture with quantified data about the various types of demand reduction interventions implemented in Greece in various fields. For the purpose of collecting information, the Greek REITOX Focal Point has developed and uses specialised questionnaires which it sends to its partners on a yearly basis.

dissemination and exchange of information about demand reduction interventions implemented in Greece at the national and European level

One of the core activities of the Greek REITOX Focal Point is to present and make available the data it collects and analyses both at the national (e.g. Annual Reports of the Greek REITOX Focal Point) [link: 3]) and at the European level (e.g. National Annual Report submitted to the EMCDDA).

Moreover, the Greek REITOX Focal Point provides information about the available demand reduction services in Greece by means of electronic databases and publications. The Inventory of drug addiction prevention and treatment services includes basic information about the operation and the main activities of drug demand reduction services in Greece.

enhancing the visibility of demand reduction interventions implemented in Greece at the national and the European level

In addition to routinely reporting about the interventions implemented in Greece on a yearly basis at both national and European level, the Greek REITOX Focal Point also promotes the visibility of demand reduction interventions (especially examples of best practice) and publishes them on information exchange systems.

As a result, certain Greek demand reduction agencies and interventions considered to be examples of best practice (based on specific evaluation criteria established at the European level) are showcased on EDDRA electronic database [link: 2.2.5] run by the EMCDDA.

promotion of evaluation and research across the whole spectrum of demand reduction interventions in Greece

The Greek REITOX Focal Point places great emphasis on the development of evaluation through participation in experts groups, implementation of evaluation-related projects and transfer of knowhow at the national level. Against this backdrop, the Greek REITOX Focal Point contributes to enriching the Evaluation Instrument Bank of the EMCDDA with valid Greek questionnaires for the evaluation of demand reduction interventions.

Moreover, the Greek REITOX Focal Point is involved in publishing and organises training courses on evaluation methods and instruments.
